UPDATE: Dart River Ford has now reopened with temporary repairs but it requires extra caution until permanent repairs can be carried out. Please remember not to attempt a crossing if the river is overtopping the concrete.

Dart River Ford is an old forest service structure that provides an access to Kahurangi National Park and Wangapeka Track at the end of Wangapeka River Road. A structural issue has been identified, which means this will be closed to vehicles until further notice while we investigate and devise a repair method.
If you are planning to access this area, please allow extra time to walk the additional 7km from the Ford to Prices Clearing near the start of the Wangapeka Track, and take extreme care crossing the river on foot.
